๐If you ride the same route every day
How to Use / If you ride the same route every day
Unlike visitors, people who ride the same route daily check the same things every time โ same section, same station.
Register a few of them and you’ll skip the searching, and your fares will match what you actually pay.
01 Register your commuter pass
Section and route, both specified

Japanese commuter passes specify not just the section but the route. Same origin and destination, different lines in between, different pass. It isn’t a stored-value or ride-count system โ it’s unlimited travel along one fixed path.
Go to More > Commuter pass, pick your departure and arrival stations, then select the route you actually use.
Once registered, that section drops out of fare calculations automatically. Stop somewhere on the way home and you’ll see only the extra you actually owe โ no working out where your pass coverage ends.
Renewed your pass with a different section? Update it in the app too, or fares won’t match.
02 Save the routes you ride often
No searching required

Search a route and tap the star to save it. Home to work, work to home โ worth adding the ones you ride daily.
Saved routes live in the Favourites tab, and here’s the useful part: they recalculate automatically against the current time. The number at the bottom right counts down to the next refresh.
Open the app in the morning and you immediately see when you’d arrive if you left now. No re-entering stations. Change the departure time at the top and every saved route recalculates for that time.
03 Save stations too
Straight to the next departure

Favourites has a Stations tab as well. Tap the star on any station info screen to save it.
Handy when you only want departure times for one station rather than a full route. Save your local station and you can check the next train before heading out, without hunting for it on the map.
